1) The South East Women’s Series is open to any female cyclist who is at least 12 years of age. Riders will be asked for their 10 mile and 25 mile PB at the time of affiliating and whether they will be riding on a TT bike or a road bike and will then categorised from Category to Category 4 or in the road bike category accordingly. Riders with no previous time trial experience will be deemed to be Category 4. Categories for TT bike riders will be defined as follows based on the higher category according to a rider's 10 mile and 25 mile personal bests but can be altered at the organisers discretion. Depending on demand, I may have to split the road bike category into 2.
  • Cat 1 - Sub 22 minutes for 10 miles, sub 55 minutes for 25 miles
  • Cat 2 - 22.01-24.00 for 10 miles, 55:01-60:00 minutes for 25 miles
  • Cat 3 - 24.01-26.00 for 10 miles, 60:01 - 65:00 minutes for 25 miles
  • Cat 4 - 26.01 upwards for 10 miles, 65:00 minutes upwards for 25 miles
  • Road bike category - for riders of generic road bikes only - no aero wheels  (i.e. deep sectioned), pointy helmets or aerobars allowed. Note road bikes with aero aids will be classified as TT bikes!
Riders can not move between categories mid season but can elect to be in a category above their PB banding if they feel it more appropriate.

Triathletes should provide their best 40km bike leg split if they have no TTing experience and should inform the organiser if they have represented GB at age group level.

As there are so few Cat 1 riders expected in the series, their points in each event are calculated by reference to the Cat 1 rider and Cat 2 riders. All other riders points are calculated only by reference to the other riders in their category.
2) The Series comprises 11 or 12 (to be confirmed) events as published at the start of the season. If for any reason the organising club does not hold an event as planned, an alternative event may be selected by agreement with the same or another promoting club.
3) Event results will be published on the series website as follows :
a) Actual time
b) Veterans time on standard
4) At season end there will be prizes for the fastest three in each category and the fastest vet on standard by category.

The first placed rider receives 100 points. The remaining riders score points in proportion to the number of riders that they have beaten. The formula for calculating your points score is:
((Number of people you beat or equal + 1) ÷ (number of finishers)) x 100
This is rounded to the nearest whole number

This is demystified below!

5) Each rider’s five best points scores will be used to determine their place in the Series standings. In the event of a tie the riders’ 6th best result will be used. In the event of the result still being a tie the 7th best results will be used and so on.
6) Trophies and cash prizes will be presented to the winners at the end of the season. The prizes will be split equally between categories as best as I can.
